TORTOLA, BVI – Gov’t was ‘resilient’ in taking over pier project

The government displayed resilience when it took over the development of its cruise pier/park project from the privately owned Tortola Pier Partners (TPP), according to Andrew Duckworth, director of destination development at Norwegian Cruise Line.

Back in 2013, the National Democratic Party administration took over the multi-million dollar project from TPP which was chosen as the tentative contractor. It claimed that ‘conditions precedent to the agreement were not concluded in a timely manner’.
